So Sam at RadioWorldUK (guessing he is a higher up) got back to me. He is working on getting either the sections from Sirio when the reopen or get from his next shipment from Sirio.
I suggested via email that possibly the 827 and 2016 utilize the same antenna sections. Not sure but was worth a...
Dave from the dealer RadioWorldUK got back to me. Suggested I check the box again. I followed up with more pics of the torn box and showed the 3 sections that I got. I even offered another 20 BP to get a replacement antenna 5 sections sent. It stinks with the time difference.
In other...
So everything is in the box. Except the very top of the mast. That steps down to the ball adjustment part.
Sent email to UK shop and Sirio Italy
ughhh
Order placed for the 400HD with a/b bias option.
Also read up how there is a pot inside the HP1200 (and most other supplies) to get to 12.8vdc. (y)
On another note my antenna is looking not good as I got the old "beyond our control" exception.:(
Going try a HP server power supply. 900w (75 amp) rated at 12.xx volts. Was $22 and premade converter board with switch and power v meter was $11. All shipped from US. Be neat to try out. 4 pill should be ok with 75 amp at 12.xx. Figured 60 amps at 13.8 for 4 pill, so 12.xx at 75 amp would...
So I'm thinking of ordering the 400HD tonight. He quoted me about a week lead time.
May end up selling the older 400 Elite with 1446's. Got to have a little balance in the check book.
Of course UPS sends me an exception. The package has to be re wrapped. It's here in town but went back to the hub. Let's hope they didn't loose the radials or antenna parts. Or for crimminy sake bend it in half or something.:(
well HD has a 10/20 ladder rated for 250lbs for $130. Which if I just add 5' for free as I have a piece of top rail here and just fab or use a bracket on the higher side to hook to the mast up at 20' mark I should be good. And I gain a ladder.
Oh. That may work. But I don't have a 10/20' ladder. Only a 6'. Hence the fun.
I had to plant the top 10' and antenna as one unit into the bottom 10' section. Fun fun.
and should I just slide a 3-5' top rail under the whole thing and just re-clamp? Or get a whole new mast??
Debating on the EZ Up Pole that is 18ga sections with 16ga top section for $153 shipped. Or ROHN 5' sections that are 16ga for $121 shipped for 5??
I currently have 2 top rail sections (17ga or so) with 4 (3 shown in pic with one down lower) of the 4" wall brackets and a coupling holding it...
Says shipped via UPS. ETA is tomorrow??
Heck I'd be happy with 1-3 weeks.
Like Wish
My oldest son agreed to help me try it out (aka put it up) here in NJ where the A99 is. He has no idea. LoL
While this may true. The plan was for the 2016 to go to my NC property more than likely and the A99 stay here with me in the NJ state. Or vice a versa. Still up in the air on that decision.
That's what I was thinking. A slit might cause a split if wind is sideways.
I'll just add the anti seize and maybe some tape at the joints on top of the plastic/rubber sleeves.
The videos of them being assembled show like a 3-4" joint area and maybe a 2" spread on the screws. Here is some pics I got offline.
This is the way they are. Can't change it.
