    JT-400 Coax

Here's the 1/2 inch Heliax hard line and 3/8 inch superflex with N connections I just installed today. The 1/2 inch is a bit of a "hard line" to work with being stiff but once it's straighten out it can be manipulated into place. The shorter piece of 3/8 inch superflex was much easier. This...

    JT-400 Coax

Yes, SOLDER/CRIMP only is the way to go. Soldered tip for the center conductor and crimp the shield and use silver/teflon connectors. On larger RG8 size coax the 5 sided crimp on the braided shield is rock solid provided you use ratcheting crimpers and the correct die. Soldering the tip is...

    3Y0J Bouvet Island

I'll be ready for Bouvet! I just converted my Mosely TA-33 jr beam to a MP-33 NW which swaps the original driven element traps for a higher power version and also adds a high power 12 and 17m element (rotatable dipole only). I should have went with this antenna first! I'm also changing the...

is a solid core rg8u coax or a stranded core better

Like others have said, performance wise is really no difference . Solid core may have slightly better spec's like a bit more power handling and dB loss but even at 100ft lengths the difference is negligible. The downside is the more you repeatedly you bend the solid core, it can and eventually...

Galaxy 94/98VHF Alternative Freq. Mod - Needed ??

Isn't the conversion still done by moving a jumper wire? If so, you could always wire up a multi-pole switch to go from between the 11 mod and factory. There is a crystal swap mod that will give coverage starting around 26 mHz and goes to the top of the 10 meter FM portion of the band.

    What's your favorite pepper sauce?

KFC is nationwide even many of them are worldwide. Popeye's came to NM about 10 years ago and spread into Az and elsewhere by now. I did live in Biloxi Ms for a few years as a young kid being my dad was stationed there in the Air Force so I got a taste for some Southern foods. School...

I believe Tabasco sauce is the oldest and original hot sauce manufacturer. They got it right over 150 years ago.

    What's your favorite pepper sauce?

Another Tabasco sauce vote here, Growing up in New Mexico which is the Green Chile capital I love it over eggs and potatoes for breakfast but when I started driving over the road, it's not to be found outside of NM (with few exceptions). I found breakfasts on the road bland and boring with no...
