    What would you do?

QRN, you should be ashamed of yourself! But as your friend, I'm going out of my way and help you out. First, box up the transmitter and send it to California. Because I'm helping you out, the least you can do is pay for the shipping. I will use my local resources to rebuild the TRANSMITTER...

    Radial length

Sloping or flat; you decide. The matching network should take care of the match. If it was a quarter wave, you could approve the match by sloping the radials.

19" radials and call it a day.

    astroplane?

Bob, I have a local whom I've been trying to get his original Avanti from. No luck yet. When I get it, you pay only shipping which will include that OTHER stuff I've had here for you for WAY TOO LONG! I'll stop by there again, today. Free antenna, rivets, Noalox; you pay shipping.

    Where are the PHOTOS?!

I just kicked in $25.00 to support the cause, despite the perks being a moderator gives me. How much for the photos software, I might be willing to make that donation since I actually USE the photos section to post my pictures for the users.

    log periodic

I own and used a KLM Log. Used it when I was in the Navy. Never put it up at home. They work great and are basically a 2-element beam on all frequencies. They are great for some purposes and a compromise for others. Check this one out: http://realhamradio.com/Log_Periodic.htm

    need help with tower setup

I love the Heliax you are using! Before you build the I-10K, contact me. I have a few building hints for you.

Nope. Its an end fed half wave, not a dipole. Use a choke balun at the base and the CMCs go away.

    Cushcraft R6000 over a 10-80M multi-wire dipole

I'll buy the 450G with the extra box!

    antron 99

Wrong. You would open the circuit to the rest of the antenna!

Nope. You may think so, but that doesn't make it so. Now, if you heard it on the radio or the Internet......

    Cushcraft R6000 over a 10-80M multi-wire dipole

Shhh...I'm trying to unload it! Actually, it does have it's place and works without ground radials. Yes, there are better vertical antennas!

What size 220 service for SB-220

Back when the Heathkit, Drake, and Swan amps were being manufactured, the FCC rules listed INPUT ratings. Those rules were changed in the late 70s and the current production amplifiers are using the OUTPUT rating from the FCC. The INPUT rating (power used by the amplifier) is different than...

    Cushcraft R6000 over a 10-80M multi-wire dipole

Yep, ground coupling when mounted on a fence post. Unlike the I-10K, which takes it's ground plane up the pole with it, the R-6K is NOT a ground plane antenna! Its a vertical antenna requiring a ground plane (which is accomplished when mounted close to the ground and using radial wires)...
