Long winded is good, cheers.
We're driving the amp with the same radio I noticed. I dont use the green button on the 500v and have the variable turned fully clockwise, its my understanding its best not to use the variable on amp hence why I have this way.
My Stryker 955 deadkeys ar 4W, but...
I was looking at the PSU, it shows output in voltage and current draw when I modulate via dual digital led .
Im happy with the amp, it tops off at just under 400W pep with my Stryker 955 driving it. I guess the reason I mentioned amperage was it doesnt seem to draw that much.
Cheers. Did they ever mention why they used 10awg cord?
I currently extended the existing 10 gauge via soldering and heatshrink to 2 feet of regular stranded 8 awg.
I noticed you also upgraded the internal power cables also. My amp is currently set to pep at 400W tops . the current draw doesnt...
That "truckerized" you are referring to is it the fella with lots of YouTube performance reports on many 2970N4 radios doing over 500W or more?
Made me cringe, as I dont even believe that radio is stable for 400W lol
My question did go answered. Will this thread also include other scammers or not? Or is Snake Oil the only scammer in north america?
Edit was supposed to say "unanswered".
It was an issue directly with the radio from the factory in Malaysia . First symptoms out of the box was a high deadkey. I posted a thread about it on this forum.
The reason why I set it up like this , was ease of moving the radio to truck from homebase station. I figured the 955 doesnt require that much current , hence the cigar plug option would or could have worked for ease of mobility as I have 8 AWG with anderson hardwired in truck for the other...
I remember when researching the forum that there was some posts about the Stryker 955hpc having a large voltage drop when keying the mic. Well, I also noticed this recently on mine. The volts on my home base setup was according to the Stryker display 14.1V, this dropped to about 12.5V or less...
Hi, I didnt get it tuned, it was purchased from Amazon via one of their distributors . So I cannot advise about where to get it tuned as mine was bone stock.
I was just hoping he'd send me a front unit and I'd send him back this front unit, probably was asking for too much or probably as with anything else in the CB business the user damaged it attitude.
Well like I mentioned earlier, my attempt to spray compressed air per advise given by him ( not...
Id have no radios if I send this back to Stryker for "repair". The 2970N4 is out for repair currently. Funnily enough, I received an automated email from Shawn at Stryker asking me how Im getting on with the new radio. Albeit I ignored it.
