you will have to realign the radio after the clarifier mod. did you align it after the mod?

good finds. my thrift store puts a price on radios about the same as a new radio. he prices cobra 29 radios around 75.00 just as an example of what he does.

best to leave the clarifier like it is. more slide and way more drift if you mod it to slide more

I had a 29 popping about like yours a few years ago and changed the caps at the audio IC and it went away. one of the caps was bad causing the noise. forget which one was bad but C48 keeps popping in my head as to the one that was bad, just a thought

it is an old one. do not remember the brand right off hand. it is about 50 years old from what I remember. I have 2 of them and both work just fine. I looked for the manual for them and they are Eico 147 and 147A. both do the job for me.
