Yes, exactly, except, the lights used to work without any coax being connected. I didn't tear the meter apart to actually check the lighting grounding source. I just happened to notice that while changing a jumper one day, the lights went out. Screwing the new jumper in place returned the...
Nope, jack is good as well cuz the power is making it's way to the circuit board. I traced power all over the board. Just not the light bulbs. I can't get pics now it's all back together and mounted under the shelf. Damn, I wish I'd get into the habit of more pics when I open stuff up.
It's connected to the same power supply that powers my radio. The cord is absolutely good, no issues with it at all. There's power inside the meter all over the place, except for the light bulbs. And all I had to do was run the negative from the jack in the back of the meter down to the case...
There is 12v inside the meter. The jack is good and the power reaches the board. Only the lights are affected. I ran a piece of wire from the jack neg to the case and it works.
I don't really know if it affected the peak hold mode. I never tried it. I'm assuming it would affect that as well since there's only one power source input. What I did is solder a short jumper from the negative side of the power source Jack down to the shielded box at the bottom of the case...
That's exactly what I thought. But, I have it apart and everything is fine according to the multimeter. The strange thing about this is that, if I simply ground the case to -12v the light goes on. Would it be safe to run a wire from the neg on the input to the case?
Howdy folks! Just another extremely strange anomaly from me and my equipment. My setup is like this. Stryker 955 to DX-500, to meter to antenna. All is seemingly good. BUT, I just noticed that when I disconnect the coax from the radio, my meter light goes out. Yes, I have a 12v source (same...
Of course they lower the power bill, but $60k worth? How long would it take to save $60k from your power bill. Better yet, how long does it take before you've paid $60k for power? I used to sell batteries from the golf car shop to these people who put solar power at their camps, or decided they...
I think you're pissing into the wind with another antenna. I think it's more likely a bad F connector or lost shield in the coax. Her cable has a leak somewhere.
I do the same thing. I try to keep them going for as long as I can. My record so far is 52 minutes! Sometimes I can even con them into telling me about their kids and stuff. It's great!
