When a couple of my buddies asked me to set them up with Strykers I went with amazon. This was a few years ago, though. I purchased some of the last few V1 955s out there. Had no issues. The last few times I bought I went to CB World. Best price, bar none on an unmolested sealed box unit.
Thanks for the new year wishes everyone. Hope the entire membership has a great, happy and prosperous 2024!! May the radio gods bestow good fortune upon us all!
I got 2879s ordered from Gatekeeper. Says they will ship on Tuesday. If you want to PM me your shipping info I'll get the package ready to ship as soon as the pills arrive.
Thanx much. I already sent him a text but didn't receive a response yet. I'll try calling him tomorrow if I don't hear something by noon. I knew I was pushing it a bit hard for the DEIs but I thought I would have a little warning before it crapped the bed. LOL.
Well, is it something you'd feel comfortable fixing? This may be a stupid question, but, I would assume you'd use four matching transistors?
Thanx, Jeff. Much appreciated.
I think I pushed her just a bit too hard. Not sure, but she let out the magic smoke. Took out a couple of resistors and what I think may be chokes. (I'm not a tech) Anyhow, I need this repaired in a timely manner if someone can do it. Pics are below.
I don't know. I don't get it. I mean, I did my Stryker with the menu, but I knew exactly what I wanted to accomplish and what aspects of the performance I needed to alter. I made my adjustments according to the mic and amp I'm running so that everything is at a good match and sounds good. When...
I have no idea what settings 10 and 17 are. Seems like getting info from you is like trying to pull teeth. Try turning it to the right and see if it keeps going and starts over. You still haven't said what you're attempting to adjust. Sounds to me like you don't know, either SMFH.
I have a 140mm fan on the bottom. But if I get a bit long winded, the case gets pretty hot as well. I was thinking of also cooling each pill with a small heat sink and a large fan inside. You thinking no gains?
The adhesive glue holds them to CPUs and such, so I was thinking it should hold on a transistor. Think not? They make sepcific thermal glue for such applications.
Anyone ever try using small heat sinks with adhesive pads on top of 2879s? Was thinking of trying this on my DX-500. The adhesive pads would hold them on and a slow turning internal fan with exhaust holes in the lid should move enough air with virtually no noise.
