    I know there have been some different views on this little radio from many different users..My thoughts are it's a Fantastic radio.Just got it in and i have compared it to 2 different rigs on the same antenna..A 2950dx and a kenwood ts-450s..I can state for a fact mine has a lower noise floor...

    Nope was not a hack job as one of the pins on the diode has zero solder and a huge blob next to it shorting out some resistors...And the diode was barley hanging sideways on the 3 pen pad..

    Found the issue D90 was installed wrong ...It was sidways and when the machine at the factory soldered it it blobed some joints together and it was pulling the regulator voltage down..Wow what a mess!!I just traded for another one..Think i'll sell it..:)

    The only way i can get the am power down is to drop the apc voltage and that in turn drops the ssb apc...hummm

    Ok here is what i have found..I replaced the b827 No joy ...However if i run vr15 up to 6 volts i then can get vr 18 up to 12.5 But the radio key's 150 watts on am and i can't get it any lower...Wow at least i am learning and this radio has been this way from new..Hummm...according to the...

    Well i may puke on this thing with the apc all the way up in ssb mode i can only get 9V Don't that duck your hat in the creek and am mode i see 1.5 volts with about 6 watts on the meter ...

    Yes as far as i can tell it has took care of the issue..Now i need to set the main board drivers they are also at less than 3 volts..I can't thank you enough for leading me in the right direction..I think you nailed it..

    How about just the opposite all of my settings are less than 3vdc to be exact 2.85 or less on all Gates measured with a wavetek 10XL
