    DDS VFO

Chris have you done a D201a yet with these kits ? I got two kits from Troys for the Black Ch sw 201a & 23 ch 201 etc here, started on it , then life got in the way, and need to get back to it. I got opto relays etc to detect the radio mode sw change. If you had any notes on what you did there, I...

    Tram D201 VFO drift fix.

I did the mod using two 100v 5w units in parallel. One thing to remember on these at 100v the voltage - temperature coefficient apparrently is positive, meaning as the first conducting zener warms its voltage rating increases until the other zener of same rating in parallel starts conducting...

    Tram D201 VFO drift fix.

OK on that, with the 100v 5w zeners I got a pack of 10 for 5 bucks shipped. Being the same batch they should be very similar, like I said it can only help rather than just leaving 1, which is my other idea, just do the one as per original post in this thread, however I do intend to fit a...

    Tram D201 VFO drift fix.

Just regarding the parallel proposition, apparrently zeners rated over 5v behave in a way that supports parallel operation better, even though it has its drawbacks as you mention. The idea here was to remove some to half of the wattage load off the one zener when just having just one zener. The...

    Tram D201 VFO drift fix.

Thanks, I had already ordered some 100v 5w units, will try, and fit a tubular heatsink to help in xtal mode. Looking at your fix Chris, I should use 2 x 50v 5w units in series to provide 10w,....... I looked at that and they seem hard to get , will go with the 100v 5w units and see how I go..

Tram D201A substitute for the factory type relay.

I get it thanks, my next move will be to move a bad relay (bad contacts) 110v coil to the 24v relay ( I have 2 here so need to use them) with new contacts . I think it is do-able. As for the schematic, I found a 8 page one and shared it with you. Thanks for your D201(a) fixit kits on Ebay.

Tram D201A substitute for the factory type relay.

Hi Chris, I purchased some 24v units with the idea of adding 8K resistors in series with te coil to achieve the correct volt drop. My other idea was to take a good 110v coil out of a worn relay and fit it in the 24v relay replacing the coil. Wile I am here, where can I get a no vox D201...
