Thursday was active, heard Ontario, New York Staten Island, Boston, Indiana, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey, and Hawaii on 37 & 38 LSB coming into the desert southwest when mobile on interstate 40. No real contacts with only 10W into a NMO-27 whip. Can't bust through that pile-up...

I've had the radio on in the background most of today (Sat. Oct. 22). DX fading in and out, 2 to 5 minute band openings at the most monitoring 37/38/39 LSB. Confirmed Kentucky finally receiving him at S7 levels here at the end of the afternoon. S2 to S3 noise all day long.

Who knows. I think most of the European countries had FM in their regulations by the mid to late 1990s, but at that point compact/pocketable mobile phones were taking off in the U.S. for mobile car communications, so the U.S. CB market was primarily trucking, and AM on Ch. 19 was "good enough"...

On Friday morning worked NB699 on 38LSB groundwave across the median of Interstate 40 as we headed in opposite directions here in the desert southwest. Another half QSO with a diffrrent station a bit later in the morning but the band wasn't holding up for DX.
