Hey Brother DXer another great guy to send a radio to is Stu, in Clyde New York. He's very reasonable and does a great job. He has on mine anyway.
He's also a great guy to talk with.
Of course, there is the shipping cost involved. As usual.
His site is https://dxradioshopny.com
I have a brand new Sigma 5/8 silver rod with the 3 small radials still in the box.
All I've done is open it and look at it and right back in the box it went. When I bought it I believe I paid about $78 dollars for it. That was 3 yrs ago or so. Where I live I'm not allowed to put up any antenna...
Will be tried top dead center of an extended cab pickup truck cab. Both 102 ss whip and Predator. One right after another. I will drive about 9 or 10 miles away and will change antennas while my buddy Darryl gets readings from both. Should show which one does best on my particular vehicle, anyway.
Ordered a new Predator 10K finally. A single coil with the 27 in shaft.
I can't wait to compare it myself to my 102" SS Whip and see how much better it is!

I can't wait to witness these results myself!
If it does, I...
Well. I bit the bullet. I just ordered a Predator 10K (K-1-27). Cost a lot but, after all I've read on here, I have to see for myself how this antenna out talks a 102" SS Whip so badly. For the money I just spent, I dang sure hope it does!
I'm not a wealthy Man myself. But, I do scrape and dig for good coax when I need it. Although from what I've read, if not for the slight difference in loss, RG 213 is almost as good as LMR-400.
LMR-400 may be better in a 100 ft run because of loss, but I've only read that here. I've no...
The ad blocker in the browser I'm using does a very good job. I had forgot about it until now. I use the Opera browser and after turning the built in ad blocker on, I have 0 ads on this site now. Great ad blocker.
I drive a 2002 Ford F-150 4x4. I bought it when it had 29,000 miles on it. I've had it since 2005 and to this day only have 143,000 miles on it. Still runs great and looks pretty darn good for the age. Nope, not no new one in my future either. Just gonna put a little money into new shocks...
I ran a ground wire, 8 gauge, from my battery negative post to the alternator bracket/bolt. Didn't solve everything but, it helped quite a lot.
Just a thought.
