    Predator 10k competition any good?

I have ran "ALL" of Kales Predator antennas...everything from the original single coil, to the dual-coil, bad to the bone, comp, 30K, and different shaft lengths from the 6" to the 27"....and in my humble opinion which together with a couple of bucks will buy you a cup of coffee..."You can't...

    Carl Built

He did pretty much ruin XForce's reputation for being a top notch company to do business with...and he may have had some issues with some of his later builds...(think that was partly due to illness and taking in more orders than he was capable of delivering)...(common problem with allot of...

Any bowlers on here - I'm really missing bowling

Use to bowl all the time...Me and my wife bowled 2 to 3 sometimes 4 times a week in different mix leagues and at several different alley's around town... Sadly every one of the bowling alleys we bowled at all closed within a 3 or 4 year period, and were torn down... Buckner Bowl, Fiesta Bowl...

    GoldenRod 45 A+ antenna

When I say "Flimsy" I guess I'm referring more to the top hat gizmo more than anything...Just the way you bend the top hat to tune the antenna IMO just looks like that could become a issue over a period of time riding around on the truck...Maybe-not...but I know the Predators (or any other...

    GoldenRod 45 A+ antenna

I got it out and played with it a little more, and got a few radio checks and best I can figure, the GR 45 was doing just about the same as my single coil Predator 10K...No better, and not worse...Just about the same signal on both from what my locals were telling me 25+ miles away... Not real...

    Crank/Tilt antenna towers?

Bought from Texas Towers back in 2012...Universal Towers is the builder...think this one was called a 4-40...(40' tall with a 4.5 sq. ft. wind load) It's a self supporting tower, as long as you stay with in the wind load rating...My antenna with the rotor would put me over that rating so I...

    Crank/Tilt antenna towers?

Guess it depends on your pocket-book....I have a 40' aluminum tower made by Universal that is a tilt-over tower...Lets you tilt over to one side to install or work on the antenna, then raise back up...Think I have around $600 invested in my tower, and it serves it's purpose just fine.

    Antenna mast isolation

...sooooo what is isolating the mast going to do? Be kinda hard to do something like that on a tower where the mast has to fit inside the rotor...plus where the mast go's threw the top section of tower, there wouldn't be room for any plastic pipe stuff...

Turner expander 500 mic- no audio

How do you know it's wired correctly? Just because it has a 4 pin or 5 pin connector doesn't mean its wired right for your radio...specially a used mic that old.

Mobile Jesse's mobile whip on a post vs whip on the Center Roof.

Hard to beat placing the antenna on the roof...Just wasn't ready to drill the hole yet on this truck, before first trying alternant alternatives... As for the Goldenrod, Yes it's on the truck right now, the pictures I posted are a few months old which is why you see the Predator 10K antenna on...

    GoldenRod 45 A+ antenna

Didn't try that, once it tuned the way it did bending them down, I didn't want to mess with it anymore!..............But the thought has crossed my mind. My biggest concern, is the signal pattern....It's got to be screwy as hell...Maybe this weekend I'll get out my field strength meter and try...

    GoldenRod 45 A+ antenna

"Dealer" doesn't ring a bell...but if he was west of Fort Worth thats probably why...West Ft.Worth too far from me for local talk, specially with all the ground clutter in between...If he were east of me, that would be a different story, I have better ears east since there's less electrical...

maybe...can't remember that far back to tell ya the truth...I've slept since then:D

    GoldenRod 45 A+ antenna

The Top Hat bracket is weak....Nothing IMO on this antenna looks like it was meant to fly down the road at 80mph on the top of a vehicle... The shaft is sorta flimsy looking, fairly small diameter compared to other aluminum antennas with shafts the same length...But I didn't notice that being a...

    GoldenRod 45 A+ antenna

With the MFJ analyzer (259b) just putting the GR45 together, with the top hat loops flat out to the sides, with no adjustments, SWR was at 1.5 across from channel 1 to 40... OK, not bad, I think that was what Lightning stated the antenna to be at. But, X=4 to X=9 too and Ohm was 59 to 60...

    GoldenRod 45 A+ antenna

I seen that video before I ordered mine, so when I received mine, first thing I did was spread the loops like in the video to lower the SWR...However, instead of going down, mine went up...I then noticed narrowing the loops made a difference, but not enough... Next I just angled the loops down...

    GoldenRod 45 A+ antenna

No, just tilted them down till SWR got to where it needed to be, then left it alone...Like i said, I'm going to leave it like it is for a while and drive around then re-check everything in a day or so to see if anything moves around.
