Regency Range Gain 4 pin male Amphenol part #

DMAS, Thank you for the pictures. They were helpful in identifying the correct connector. The two we mentioned above are sold by the same seller on eBay and the seller confirmed that the correct plug is the 91-MC4M and not the 91-MN4M. Apparently the difference is the alignment of pin 1 and...

Regency Range Gain 4 pin male Amphenol part #

Yeah that is what is so confusing. I was thinking that it is actually this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMPHENOL-91-MC4M-4-PIN-3-8-MICROPHONE-PLUG-CONNECTOR-ELECTROVOICE-664-SHURE-545-/400863365048?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 $50 is a big gamble...

Does anyone happen to know Amphenol's part number for the 4 Pin male mic connector that was used on the Regency Range Gain? Thanks!

    Will do!

Well I found out my issue wasn't with the driver tube after all but rather with the tube socket in some capacity. I added the AM filter and rewired the mode switch yesterday. During the process of turning the rig over I slightly bumped the driver tube....and I mean slightly (case was off)...

That's what I was hoping for. It will make life a lot simpler. Plus having the unmodified board is a plus. My soldering skills are good enough for government work but probably best left from modifications that aren't absolutely necessary lol!

Thanks KneeBiter. That's what I get for typing that out so quickly. Mode is what I meant but definitely not what I typed lol!

Question for you Nomad. I ordered an IF board with an AM filter already installed. The board is "untested." If I were to install the new untested IF board in place of the current board would I be risking damaging anything else on the radio if that board has some sort of issue or will the radio...

Yeah he was spot on. This was cross posted and I got a direct message. Not even a forum response. After a few back and forth's he said "call me if you want" and gave me his number. Turns out he's the ARRL coordinator for Kansas. He had me describe in detail how I was tuning the rig and when I...

The driver tube was the problem. The radio is operational. Slightly less output than before (5 watts) but otherwise working :)

Please be patient with my ignorance. That was an excellent explanation! I'm still digesting it as I write. What are some symptoms that would be readily identifiable if the caps aren't neutralized? You mentioned that the tubes will start to oscillate. How will this manifest on the receiving end...

Yeah and the more tubes in the system the more valuable that tool becomes. I have a 13 tube Sonar I've been restoring and I'd kill for access to a tube tester lol!

Yeah I can see that. Every radio is slightly different. It's like guns. You can have two identical guns off of the same assembly line and they will shoot ammo differently simply because of minute tolerance differences.

It was surprisingly clean. It did get a thourough dousing in DeoxIT and many, many, many rotations of the switch. I'll double check it though to make sure I didn't miss anything. I would kill for access to a tube tester. Unfortunately I haven't been able to locate someone with one nearby. There...

I appreciate the reply. It's funny that you mention the driver tube. I just got off the phone with WA0CBW (ARRL Technical Coordinator for Kansas) and he's confident (after tuning through it over the phone) that the driver tube is the cause. Not that something else couldn't also be wrong but he...

I had a bit of time so I tried going through the tuning process again but before I did I keyed up to see if everything was the same as last night. It keyed up but the i.c. was off in relation to yesterday (higher). Power output was also higher than yesterday. I then tried going through the...

Awesome! I can handle that. I'll report back with my findings. Hopefully it'll be this evening if can squeeze in some time.
