yeah sounds legit, I'm going to take a stab at this weekend, with adjusting L8. The white noise on SSB on my 2995 DX is terrible sounding. Wish I could get it to sound more like my Cobra 2000.

BC I bought it used 2 weeks ago from Doc's CB shop in Florida. It's a 2008 model. It's in very clean condition. The receiver is super noisy on SSB with high pitch white noise. Switching from AM to SSB the sound doesn't change much. Doesn't look like any components have been changed out ever. But...

top right timmer pot looks to be topped out. Doesn't look right to me. But if I screw it down, I start to loose receive.

thanks I have been messing with radios for years. I just lack test equipment. I'll give it a try. Thank you. CW sounds normal on my 2995 DX LSB and USB sound almost like AM does.

yeah tone control would have been nice. My SSB sounds just like AM kinda high pitched hissy sound. It's not easy to listen to. Wish someone would chime in about a trimmer adjustment. I'm sure that's all it is.

SSB sounds like AM. SSB on my 2995 has a very high pitch hissy sound to it. Not that low hollow SSB sound that I'm used to hearing on other SSB radios.

I have the RCI 2995 DX the white noise on SSB is super bad. Very high pitch hissy sound and not the hollow SSB sound that I'm used to on my Cobra 2000. It's hard to listen to and pick out any weak signals. Anyone here have a alignment procedure for the EPT695015A PCB board that might fix this...

I'd like to do this mod for the on/off switch for the amp also I have a RCI 2995 DX 2008 Model with LCD display. So where does the switch actually go? Green or Yellow wire?

so this is on the cobra 2000 board your speaking of? If so I will get it replaced with a higher voltage value.
