I have a Cobra 2000 GTL I just finished recapping all electrolytics on the main board. Now from what I have heard and read is that the tantalums should be changed out also before failure. My question is has anyone swapped out all the 12 tantalums for electrolytics in the Cobra 2000 before?
thanks, still trying to find out about loc c367 from the factory there is a mylar in there but on the silk screen on the pcb board it has a electrolytic cap stamp on the board.
I have a in good condition dx 302. When I got it the audio was terrible sounding. I did some of the audio mod that I found online. I put in a better speaker and raised the value on 4 electrolytic caps. My question is that at LOC C367 there is a 1uf mylar cap there and they say to replace it with...
Also the wire has been removed between L39 and TP7. It's not there. Should this be put back to stock configuration? So how is power being sent to the final? I'm assuming it's being supplied 12V instead of 8V cause the wire isn't there.
thanks Frank, I'm going to leave the radio the way it is. I'm not a tech but know some. So TP3 is a typo in my service manual? Wow ok thanks for your valuable input. I appreciate it.
ok thanks, you know your radios! I got the bias adjusted on the driver (30ma) but not the final only because the wire isn't there anymore. I guess I won't know the bias of the final, we'll see how long that final lasts. The bias final VR is at position 1 o'clock
I have a 1986 model year Cobra 2000. Final quit working. Just replaced the C1969 final with a used one that I had and works good. My question, I want to adjust the bias. My 2000 service manual mentions a TP3. There is a CRD on the pcb there and a hole but no post for a TP3. This is for the...
thanks for that info. I guess I'll just replace it with at NTE236. I have a Cobra 148 that has a NTE236 final in it and it works fantastic. Do you or does anyone know where I can find a original Mitsubishi C1969 that won't cost me a arm and a leg?
Cobra 2000 C1969 quit working on me tonight. It's bad. I have read that the NTE236 is a direct replacement for the C1969. Is it exactly the same wattage output? What a your opinions on this. Need to order the final soon. Thanks for any info.
that Pace 1000M 23 channel uses crystals. No PLL. The meter doesn't move at all. It's dead just like the trans/receive. Haven't tried trans on LSB or USB but I will next time I hook it up. Doubt it will do anything though.
Just realized I might be using the wrong schematic/board layout I found on CB Tricks. My Pace 1000M only has 2 transformers on the right while the pcb layout is showing 3 of them. Also tank coils are not in the correct orientation. Anyone know were to find the correct schematic/pcb layout for my...
UPDATE, changed out all caps. Still isn't working. I pulled TA7205P and a C106 power transistor. No output on PA and no audio. Relay is clicking when mic is keyed. Still no trans or receive or PA also. I have the 2 parts on order.
