That way if the positive wire does short out against metal around the battery box, the wire will burn to the fuse and not burn down your truck. They sell the 50 amp glass fuse and the holder (case) at your local car/audio store. As Quoted from CB Mag. they are 50 amp fuse and my RCI-2970n2 comes with the 50 amp glass fuse and case.

I had a 98vhp and i am rackin my brain trying to remember i thought i ran a 50 amp fuse. Come to think of it should be the same fuse uesd on the RCI-2970n2 You can get these type of fuses at your local car/audio shop.
