I voted AL-1500 because I really like the 8877 (3cx1500) tube. I'm not familiar with the OM Power amp but it seems overcomplicated compared to the Ameritron. When it comes to tube amps I don't care for the bells and whistles. The AL-82, AL-1200 and AL-1500 are the same amp with different tubes...
What they said. If you have a scope you can fine tune it to get the positive peaks as high as possible without cutting off the carrier. If you only have a pep meter run the carrier at 25% of max pep.
I missed that one. Do you remember the little mirror boards he was putting across the emitters of the pills to keep the input and output transformers from "talking."This was around the time he and Zapco were having pissing matches on YouTube.
The guy I'm talking about didn't do it to piss anyone off. He was more like a pirate on 11m. Most of the time he would do his thing on a vacant channel. He was actually fun to listen to and probably could have been a DJ.
He was in a band and had a lot of audio gear. He had the audio gear piped...
That's how it is sometimes. A local used to run a Texas Star 500 playing music for hours and hours. He ran the amp on a 30 amp meanwell or something similar. He was smart enough to keep the output low and use plenty of airflow. I miss that guy. The CB got stale after he moved away.
That's fantastic. I'm glad I replaced mine when I did. The ball joints were worn out around 130k and the left wheel bearing sounded dry. It has over 300k now but is rarely driven. I need to change the oil and fuel filters. I have a funny feeling it's going to be a cold winter so some fuel...
I've got a 2002 Dodge with sealed front wheel bearings. You buy the whole assembly wheel studs and all. It was around $250 10 years ago. Easy to replace but stupidly expensive.
The coax length myth is a long and winding road. Some of the same folks that say coax length doesn't matter will tell you to use specific lengths of balanced feedline aka "ladder line" Any feedline not terminated into it's surge impedance will act as an impedance transformer.
I have used those and the dx engineering brand. I feel like the dex connector is better quality but have no issues with either.
I might have done this one wrong. :D
I don't own any of these but Williams makes the older style Snap-on screwdrivers. These look like them except they have black handles instead of orange.....I tried to post the Amazon link but it's not working right.
I have some prybars that have the strike through design. I managed to drive...
If it were a manual tune amp without the bells and whistles I wouldn't stress over the tubes. If they crap out convert it to a more obtainable tube(s), buy plenty of spares and roll on.
