DX Wyoming to Virginia and Maine. Barefoot Cobra 29 with the stock 2078, tuned by Q5.
Local 10+ miles with bad noise issues with the truck on a barefoot Uniden PC122 tuned by Q5. could barely pull the guy in over the severe noise but he had no problem hearing me.
A steel whip won't trip the overheight sensors. they are set with a minimum beam interruption time so that there aren't false activations due to birds, insects, etc. flying through the beam.

From what I understand about Bob, have him do the basic tune only and it will be decent, but have him do the high watt/comp tune, you'll end up with a junk box that sounds like manure and fades out into the distance pretty quick.

I live 20 minutes away from Walcott CB. If Orlando tunes your radio, it will be decent. I had a DX 939 tuned by Dan, found that the coils in the back of the radio were slinky'd and the AMC was jacked wide open. Might as well just cut the damn limiter at that point. Sometimes the coils do...
I just whipped up another one. This one really makes the Palomar look bad... I hadn't used the CR-577 in a while...think I'll be going back to using it full time. The meter shows a higher mean as well. Remember that this is actual OTA audio, coming out of a radio, not a mic tester.

The 2018 settings were delay 3/volume 2 in the first video. going from 2 to 1.5 makes a pretty big difference considering how little you move the dial. Rather than removing the dials, I cut a mark into them at the sweet...
