I feel your pain. Why, just today, I had to change out of my jeans/sweater into shorts/T-shirt as the temperature transitioned from about 40F this morning to 70F by mid afternoon. :tongue_smilie:

The liquid electrical tape is just as good but should only used for more "permanent" applications. I think you did the right thing using tape as you can easily remove it later.
Things are pretty active here on 14. There are regular get togethers where upwards of about two dozen or so (no counting their family members) show up.
While we do have a couple of psychopaths that get on the air on a semi-regular basis and attempt to be disruptive, there's been a slow, but...
Did I mention I love Winter? Today we had a high temperature of 68F. The same thing goes for Fall and Spring.

Call me crazy, but the first rule about being a "prepper" is making damn sure my neighbors don't know I'm a prepper!!! Otherwise you might as well erect a banner over your house.
A can of air followed by a can of compressed contact cleaner usually gets the job done. :wink: Just make sure you allow sufficient time for the contact cleaner to dry before applying power to your electronics.
Personally, whenever I buy a new antenna, I won't perform my first transmission on it until February 29th. And even then I wait until the moon is rising. ;)
