I have a buddy that wrecked his motorcycle in October and will be having knee surgery that will take 6-9 months to recover. I'm wondering if anyone nearby would be willing to help setup a base station for him. I'd happily pay for everything including some gas and time.
It would be a 32 hour...
I just made my first heavy tow in my 07 f250 powerstroke and was very impressed with it's performance. I knew I was over weight, but I didn't realize I was towing 16,000lbs+.
What's that Elmer Fudpucker song...
The first day went ok considering I've never operated a hoe before. After a few hours I got a little cocky and when I dropped the end of a log on my blade I tried to tooth it and drag it out with the tracks. Didn't go as planned and I broke a hydraulic line, that cost me 3 hours and $120...
Owning 150 to $200k worth of firewood in a month or so sure seems worth it. Granted it would take another 2+ months to buck and split, but would be decent filler work for a while.
Prior to last week I had probably only cut 4 cords of pine in my life. A buddy of mine told me he found some oak and I'm thinking cool, you found a few trees. I finally go to help him and find a pile of at least 300 cord of oak.
One thing led to another and I am picking up an 11k pound mini...
I did essentially the same thing, except I added a Natural gas/propane conversion. Lots of firewood, gas, diesel, and propane stashes at my small city lot and a few friends houses. I really need to get a wood burner for backup, I've just been putting it off.
I feel like this is nothing...
I have thought about it for years, but it just doesn't make sense for me. When the power goes out around here, the worry doubles every hour. There is a lot work that likely needs to get started in the first hour of an outage. Obviously this is location dependent, and your area may commonly...
12.) Grid meter pins with low drive power
No plate current
Open RF plate choke or no high voltage
Low plate current that does not change with tuning
Open tank circuit feed, open blocking capacitor
Normal plate current and output, but grid meter pins hard
Open grid shunt R8 1.5 ohm

I don't know why it wouldn't last for several years at minimum. I've use it on every antenna connection and set screw I've touched for at least a decade. If it is in a cavity or between threads or a similar place, it won't wash out. If you smeared it on the outside of the antenna it would...
The roof is asphalt, but I've never found a decent standoff solution to keep the wire off the roof and soffits. I also assumed the unun would be much better off at ground level for better counterpoise options.
Just be sure to do some research and shop around. I like DXE, but their RG-400 price is insane compared to every other manufacturer or distributor on the planet.
Honestly, I bought this place partially because I knew I wouldn't waste 10's of thousands of dollars on antennas for a silly hobby. The covenants here are 5 pages long and 3 pages are all about construction. I don't really want my neighborhood to look like trash anyways, and buying out of town...
