I got my match set of Taylor's 3-500zg tube from RF Part a few weeks ago. They were well packaged. I removed the old Emiacs from my Heathkit SB-220 installed the Taylors. I left the amp on for 24hrs. I tuned up and getting about 1kw average on AM. I am running it at 800 watts average.

I had the same problem with mine running hot and the fan not starting. I jumped out the thermal switch or thermostat so the fan runs all the time. Now its cool to the touch. Gets luke warm under load. That lug mark chassis should be connected to your station ground.

Yes it requires a 240V @50 Amp circuit. I put 300 average in to get full output.

Why would I buy a piece of equipment that I cannot power?? With the two pill in I get right around 2500 Average watts on the bird. When driven to full output I peg the needle on a 5KW watt slug.:whistle:

It is up about 60' ft on my crank up tower.:thumbup: I love this beam. There is also a 2meter antenna below the beam. They work great!
