My previous Silver Eagle was a two pill/mrf 455's and with the same radio had no problem, no heat and no fan either. I also read the same article that was in the cb magazine. Since you have the manual, what does it say about DK ?
What DK were you using and what kind of #'s were you seeing ? My Washington DK just under 4, which I don't want to lower.
David.....very interested.....paypal almost 10 yrs.
That looks like an antenna from the late 60's, only it was inverted, can't recall the name.
All of my radios DK @ 4watts. Have you considered selling your palomar ?
Right back @ you, been awhile but new laptop solved it, I got a little over 5 yrs from old one. Hope all is well in P/Orange, maybe catch up someday, @ 74, I am slowing down. BTW, what's your feeling on Palomar 250/top rib ?

I was on it till the price was beyond what I wanted to spend. It was a Para Dynamics, some age as well. His shipping was blown somewhat, since I use USPS priority 2 day, and I see a lot of ads on Bay that are trying to make it up on shipping. I am in no hurry, the right one will hopefully come...
Follow 222dbfl suggestions to a tee. As for the void sticker, those are generally put on by CB shop seller after they have supposedely done a peak//tune. If you are using a power mic, the battery may be going, if not, I suspect a wiring solder connection @ the mic plug.Try another mic and see...
Most converts from 5pin to 4 pin is merely done with a mic adapter, such as I just did on my Washington. Astatic has a chart on line that gives you the correct pin wiring, that's what happened to your receive.
JMHO/Good luck.
222dbfl said to give you a shout, I'm trying to get in touch with gatekeeper & you might know. I live in NE Georgia like he does, and have looked on youtube @ his videos, but no contact info. Hope you can help. 3's to you/yours.
