    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

Ok Mr Shockwave, apparently, despite the unreal difficulties I have using this forum w/my dumb smartphone, my responses seem to be getting thru regardless so....... #1) no need to apologize for whatever you feel strongly about.. You say what you feel needs to be said as I do the same. You've...

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

I'm having trouble using my phone to field these emails and to post my replies. As. I've noted before, my phone simply doesn't play well with this forum, so apologies if any of my posts or replies are not where they are supposed to be or anything like that. I'm having great difficulty wth the...

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

Lastly I feel I should make note of the fact that the folks in Escondido have been very reputable, fair and generous in the way they have done business for many years and have done many free repairs warranty or not on radios and amps. In other cases, very cheaply. They have the best warranties...

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

Again, all I've said is the many testing videos I've watched show the progression of the hg/dei pills and that for some time now, they have stacked up quite well, in testing, to the Toshibas and that the HGs & DEIs are now the same device. Also, I saw a thread here on WWDX about the fake...

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

I don't know what fuse was online but it was likely a 40 or 50A fuse on the truck side of the Anderson connector. In the amp, the 6A1 diode blew (or whatever the # was) along with the mosfets & some other components. I agree that mosfets as replacements for BJT sucks but not as bad as years ago...

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

Whoa...! The misinformation sounds to me to be on your side OR....maybe you simply misunderstood me. 1st off, you sound as if you think I claimed that the HGs/DEIs are actually Toshiba 2879s or the same thing. I never saod that at all. Sorry if I gave that impression. What I DID say is that...

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

That was not the case in the N3 I recently worked on. It was purchased brand new less than 3 mos ago. You can't run the radio without the amp connected regardless of the amp is blown or not.

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

I have seen 1 video that allegedly shows a counterfiet Toshiba installed in a new 350. I don't know if that video is legit or not, in its conclusion. I find it very hard to believe that Texas star with their good reputation and years of using other brand name 2879s, would stoop to such a low...

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

Lol, step away from the TV. Texas Ranger is Ranger cb line of radios. 2879s are not hard to find. They are, in fact, used in the Texas star amps. And they are currently performing about the same as the old Toshiba. The DEIs & the Hgs are now the same and kick ass in tests.

But the "Texas Ranger" would never have anything to do with anything more than single final 4 watts

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

I'm sorry, I meant the amp, powers the radio in the 2970 N3. I'm not sure if thats the case also in a 2995? And if so, might also be the big power diode

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

Since the amplifier powers the radio, my guess would be you had a power plug disconnected or intermittent. And I assume you meant to say: Texas Star

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

Rhinoky, the only 2 things I can tell you about this is that 1) the IRFZ24NPBF was told to me by the only guy working currently at Ranger (by the name of Roger, who says he has been working there for approx 35 yrs) to be what should be used. I know in one of my previous posts I said Ranger...

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

Geeez... I forgot something else (a pic of the plug) and when I hit post, it disappeared. This forum don't like my s8 phone at all. I had said that I 4got2 up the pic of the plug I had mentioned finding unplugged when I opened the amp cover. It's J9 and it appears to say "TX" up above it. I...

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

Ok, let me try it here... Oops, as usual I forgot to attach the pics I promised so here they are. Remember, this is what comes from Ranger! Also included a couple of the IRFZ24NPBF that I installed & for comparison of the markings, an irf520 & a 13n10. Hope I did it right. Not sure if I ever...

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

Mr Eldo... HI Mr Eldo... I had been, a few days ago, messaging w/nomad re: RT1 & I had more questions but no further comments so I thought it was how my phone doesn't play too great w/this forum or some other reason caused my post to not make it here, but now I see it did.. In any event I'd...

    Ranger made radios RT1 invasion

Nomad....thanks for all the info.. Having 2 problems w/the forum. 1) the way it displays on my phone is very confusing & not very intuitive & 2) I tried several times to reply to all you said, from the emails I rcvd. Everything I sent to you bounced as I guess the emails are "no reply". I...
