Shipping is my favorite subject as I export to and import from the US daily and use parcelmonkey.com, a comparison site for most of my shipping. I arranged for an avionics TDR to be collected from my supplier Carlsbad, CA just last night.

Hi Jay, You probably don't remember me but we did speak I think back in the early 80's when I lived in London, England not Ontario :)
With the help of Jeff and co we're tracking down a possible new old stock I10K.
Back in the day I never did get around to ordering any antennas from you however...
Hi Marconi, Jeff, If you could try and touch base with Lee feel free to pass on my e-mail: david@transmittersrus.com as I am very interested in buying one antenna. I am now living in Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean but after payment has cleared I can arrange for UPS or Fedex to collect...
Thanks Jeff,
I used to communicate with Jay back in the day when he was first developing his antennas. Hopefully he will see this post.
Thanks.
David

Does anyone know if this antenna is still being manufactured as I've had no response from Jay or Steve via e-mail links on their page: http://www.a1antennas.com/

Hi Rabbi,
Thanks for your input.
In my experience much if not all splatter is caused by amplifiers being over-driven. If a box is designed for 10W drive then that does not equate to 'all controls to 11', it means you or your tech sets your drive level to 10W max, if not a little less to keep...
Hi Rabbi,
After that statement I have to ask you to elaborate and not be cryptic in your clues :)
Are we talking here about the person or the product because I'm really very interested in the product?
Where's PEAKABOO when you need him? I met him and many others when I visited Tyler, TX back...
Hey 9C1,
Thanks for your input.
Can the Cobra's PA be modified for higher output? There seems a number of mod kits out there however I hear what you say and it would of maybe been more educational to have seen an accurate measurement of this radio.
Tecnicoloco,
Do you know if this Canadian...
Is anyone familiar with JD's MOSFET anp's and if they are still available in the market?
I've watched his video's on YT and the numbers look good:
Are there any other similar 2 driving 8 MOSFET mobile amp's out there? I've searched and Palomar/Magnum is about it and limited to 4 FET boxs...
Further to my post above maybe there's a business opening for some enterprising sole?
600W High power booster module DC 10-60V to 12-80V Boost Converter Step-up Module Power Supply
:)
Hi Shockwave,
"It's called the DC to DC converter and has been around in high power applications for many years. Today's high efficiency light weight switching versions make this easier and more economical than ever before.
"
I've been aware for years that the car stereo amp's run the volts...
Hi Design4,
I imagine then that's a basic 1 driving 4? Something similar or same as the Palomar.
Looks like only Superior Amp's are pushing ahead with the design of relative high power FET mobiles.
I'm still waiting on a response to my second and last mail to the contact there to find...
Hey Tin-Can,
I e-mailed Skywalker asking for some details on their 600W FET amp including the device part number and line-up together with a photo or two of the inside of the amp and was told they do not divulge this information.
Heck, I'm a potential customer - but not any-more.
If I wanted...
Hi FNKY,
No response from him at his PayPal address so would appreciate it if you can find a direct e-mail address for me.
Feel free to pm me if you prefer.
Tin Can,
Do you gave any idea which four FET's are in the output of that Sky Fet 600 as if the same as the Palomar then they...
Thanks for his PayPal ID!
Geoff,
They may not be RF mosfets but FET's they are.
Out of interest I wonder what if any other similar high power CB/11m FEt amp's are out there.
Thanks anyway.

Hi Guys,
I did state in my original post 12v.
I'm not too sure I'd get much out of a big 50v LDMOS from a 12v rail!
I did think about powering a 50v PA with one of these rascals:
battery chargers, fuel cell converters - SU13 Step Up DC/DC Converter Listings - Zahn Electronics, Inc...
Does anyone know of a higher power 12v FET amp than the Palomar 450?
Links or photo's appreciated.
I'm in the market for something with a bit more grunt.
Thanks.
Unit 148
Thanks guys.
Yes, Shock, that is what I thought.
Without me going a searching is there any truth in what I read somewhere of there being some not so good 2879's out there?
Are there some second rate or ripped off copies of this device being produced by the Chinese?
What are your...
