My desktop is set to the default gray. I can't get my mobile back to the default gray. Changing one doesn't effect to other.

My guess would be water in the coax/connector. During a rain I would expect the reflect to rise maybe. But afterward if the reflect is still high it's probably the coax.

And you don't have issues? You've certainly set your self up for some in just about anything microprocessor controlled, plus RF equipment and audio equipment. Not to mention lightning.

I would expect to see a curve even at .44MHz honestly. The last mobile I owned was a hard mounted Wilson on the top of a quad cab dually. From my notes it showed a 2:1 curve of 1.3MHz which is pretty flat, and 3-4 tenths of a point curve within .44MHz. An antenna that's flat from 2m to 20m...

It didn't take a 259b or VNA to see there was a problem with that antenna, the SWR showed it was acting more like a dummy load than an antenna.

I'm going to assume this guy was talking about run of the mill mobile installs, and the ones I've done tuned flat out of the box with an SWR meter and looked good enough to me on a 259b. If you want to sweep a $50 11m antenna with a $1000 analyser and play with field strength, bonding, coils...

For all intent and purposes, a monoband antenna of proven design should be tuned to the lowest SWR.

And then you get the guys running new equipment and up to date software complaining that the forum is out dated. I wouldn't even be on the internet if I was that worried about snooping.
