Thanks for the reply The read out 1.18 is from My AA230 zoom when I laid the antenna flat on the deck The 1.59 is also from the meter when I stood the antenna back up......I am aware of the ratio configuration
I I added a Ugly Balun but didnt make any difference i brought the antenna down to where i had it when I was testing it and pulled the coax straight out the best I can the Ungly balun is about a foot off the so239 connector should it be further down the antenna?
Im so done with this Homemade crap Ive been up and down on the house this antenna is so wobbly and the best is 2:1 I added and cut I remeasured I checked for shorts etc etc etc...... Then I gave up laid it on the deck flat and got 1:59 on Ch 1 WTH?? is going on do I just toss it on the...
OH I see now Maybe a trip to HD is on the agenda today Im At 2:1 on the SWR now where it sit as shown in the second pic maybe if i put back up it will correct itself I dunno I just dont like heights and Im by myself so its sketchy
So I would solder the coax weave on to the copper pipe correct and make the copper pipe 102 inches with the stinger side also 102 inch but a little longer for tuning
OK I put it back together and in a temp location atm its below roof line and pulled the coax out the best I can for a temp thing and my results ch1 2:1 ch20 2:2 ch40 2:3
correct i dropped the antenna back down to ground level where it did get 1:2 but now with the RG 213 on its gone crazy and I did check the coax with my AA-230 Zoom analyzer ans all checks out ok.....cable loss 0.60DB @27405 MHZ 49.8 ohms
I just dropped it off the roof put it back where i WAS getting 1:2 and it at 6.5 now only other thing that is different is the rg213 i have on it now from the rg8x I had on it while matching earlier... the coax has no shorts I tested with my Fluke meter
This antenna plan didn't require them .... The stinger goes up The GP goes down same length on both trim both when matching to sp5 its question to forestrunner the gp goes down inside mast
I made this "SIMPLE ANTENNA" Set it up in a temporary place Match it got it to 1:2 on ch1 and 1:3 on 40 so I then went bought 60 feet of RG213 raised the antenna up 40 at the tip on antenna now I have 4.5 on 1 and 5.1 on 40 using a RigExpert AA-230 zoom analyzer.... I checked for shorts in...
Ill have to open it up to see the numbers I put those finals in just for the hell of it and like i thought the 1969's are clones will not work the 2166's are OE and work good.....
I re-soldered those 2 area best I could No changes so the search goes on ...I think Im still going to put the finals in I dont know if that would help the WeaK modulation problem or not but Ill give it a try.....
