Back in Salinas Ca. ( Salad Bowl ) We Operated on Ch.19 And The Truckers ran Ch.17. They would come up to Ch.19 to get directions to the Produce Sheds. This was back in '73 when I got into CB Radios. We had several CB Clubs and CB Breaks on the weekend with a Country-n-Western Bands and had Door...
I set my Carrier at 1-2 watts and NO MOD SWING KIT, And run a great Palomar Elite 250 older style I got from a Great Friend on this forum. As far as a stock radio, That's how I run my Equipment with a Good Sirio Antenna.
I can tell Ya'll this, Last night Driving my Company Dodge 2012 Caravan on the Oklahoma Turnpike 18 miles west of Joplin Mo. this Pick-up pulling a small trailer with 400 Chickens, Yes that's right - -400 Chickens, Bunch of Cluckers there. The Pick-up blew a tire and hit the Jersey Wall ( Left...

Wow, All this time I thought by changing the length of the coax would change my SWR. The length on the MP145 i thought was 15' the length on my Wilson is 17' So instead of butchering up my Stinger on my Sirio, I added a 3' section in which lowered my SWR's, No am I doing something wrong here ...
NOT to start an argument, But I do Freeband and have for many years. I go up to 27.655 lsb to 26.785 am. At no given time do I go into 10 Meter Band. There are a lot of us that do QSO on 20 channels above 27.405, And Dx down on lower AM Channels. And yes i thought seriously about my Tech.Ticket...
The Coax was too short, As I stated. So by installing a Barrel Connector and adding a 3' section of coax, that did lower my SWR. As far as making that look better ?? I don't care what it looks like as long as it performs. I've tried more Center loads, Base loads, Top loads than you can imagine...
