Re: guy in az
Oh yes red wing, I was afraid you were talking about that jackass. The one in Tempe is Chris. All the operators on 38 lsb, and 27.555 in Phoenix area here are hated by all. The talk trash to the skip and give Phoenix a bad name. They are a bunch of wannabe hammys that bought...
I'll tell you what jjohnson. Since your a trucker look me up when you roll through Phoenix AZ, and I'll be glad to have a little keydown with your big truck in my 4 wheeler and this Monkey Made operator will hurt your little antenna's feelings.
Johnson, is that your name or an...
Re: mm smoked 10 -k
I would have rather run the 10K. It's lighter than the Monkey and catches less wind with the small coil. but performance wise the Monkey is better in my application.
AFTER ALL S-UNITS TALK, THE PREDATOR 10K WALKS ! :naughty
Last night was talking to a friend 12 miles from where I live. I was stationary and tried 3 different antennas. Here is the line up.
Predator 10K single coil 22'' shaft
Monkey Made MM-4 ( only 4-3 wraps on coil with 9'' shaft)
102'' steel whip
I was running my X Force driver box.
My...
Re: favorite to meter radio
I've had alot of Galaxy radios over the years and have had good luck with them, however everyone I've ever owned with sideband was extremely drifty. Thats why I stick with the AM/FM only now. 8)
RCI 2950DX with green display for SSB. Nice recieve, strong clean audio.
Galaxy DX55V for AM work in mobile. Simple, AM/FM rig with freq. counter, variable dead key, and it's got monster audio, and monster swing. It drives my X Force boxes better than most dual final radios.
I run the MM-4. I am very happy with it. It has only 3 wraps on the coil spaced very wide, with a long stinger, and the 8'' shaft. The wide spaced coil helps for no arcing under extreme power. The only thing about the antenna is it is heavy, and you'll need to run extra heavy duty stud. However...
Thanks for info Adam. I was just relaying what Frank posted on his board. I don't know him, nor am I going to send my radio to him. He just was posting like he keys or something.
I was curious about the differences, but I do understand the bandwith deal. I know also that the 6 band radios...
Frank from 1 Stop says it's one of his favorite keydown radios.
It's just a single final radio, that all ready has a 2SC1969 final in it. How is it that much different from a Cobra or Uniden ?
