I changed my power wires to #4 cable. So I to ditch the small bead also. I prefer to have a choke with a loop. So I have a ton of these large 43 mix beads. I was able to get 2 pass thru my bead on the outside the of cabinet. 31 mix would be better but I do not have any. I plan on buying some...

Do you have anything extra in line (ie filters, tuners) if so; I would remove them until you figure out where the problem lies. I would invest into an adequate dummy load. What happens when you plug the antenna coax directly into the back of the amp? Does it still hang up? I hope you get this...

    ANYTONE AT-5555N2 receive noise work-around

Interesting thread. I will have to check mine when I get home. Funny...I never run my RFG control at 100%. My sits between 12:00-3:00 o'clock. My serial # ends with 80034. Update... My receive is just fine. A little white noise no static and my RFG control is nice and linear.

I have the 400hd. I replaced my wires with #4 awg and installed twist welding connectors. I would not splice the wires. Install some Anderson power connectors. A At-5555n ii may be a little too hot for this amp. the recommended power input for this amp is 40 watts peak power. His amp is class B...

I heard a simular story from someone else with the AT-5555. My input match is 1.2 until I get to the very edge of the band with my antenna.

I run the 400hd( as a base amp) on a 100 amp power supply (3x) 6 volt server supplies each set to 4.83 =14.5vdc @100 amps. My supply dips to 14.4 when I transmit on SSB. I run the Anytone At-5555n ii on a seperate 50 amp switcher supply @ 14.3 volts. Most of my DX is done on SSB but I get great...

I have a Carlbuilt 400hd (SSB bias) that I run on 14.5 volts driving it with a AT-5555n ii ( 70 watts peak). With a 4 watt dead key I get about 80-100 watt DK swing to 550-600 peak (bird) with crystal clear modulation. Very happy with my Carlbuilt amp. Looks like his shop is back open with a...
