Hamer,
It is a awesome mount. that is the same mount i'm using for my HiQ-5/160 on my suburban hasn't budged in over a year. I thought i had a pic on here somewhere.
I have the AV MAP G5 with my 710 it works good but the batteries don't last very long. If i wasn't actually using the display for the map, especially hunting, storing in way points makes it easy to get back to the same spot when it's dark out and you can't see land marks in the woods. i would go...
well just because i had nothing better to do, i had my TS-500 re-worked by someone who use to be on this forum. They put in regulated biasing and a little bit of additional fitering. With that said as you went down in the bands so did the ouput power. Without the switchable filtering the amps...
Mole,
Very nice job on this whole presentation. I had the same concerns, the only reason for the pipe was to allow the vert./horz. thing with just a 1/4 twist on the same mast. In the 4 yrs. iv'e had it it's been fine even when left out during snow storms at camp, which is where it see's most...
For what it's worth, I went with the elk 5L dualband they both seem pretty much the same. but i made a telescoping PVC mast for mine along with a tee section to hold the coax out when in vertical mode. Most of the time it is is horiz. with a cushcraft AR-270 on top. It's great for camping trips...
I will second the Signal Engineering Quads. I ran a 2L superhawk in my early days on 11mtrs. but it worked great on 10 -12 mtrs. with very minimal adjustments on a tuner. When i sold it, the guy that bought it ran it on the bowl for a number of years out of vegas. But i still like the Super Scanners
i know this is probably a no brainer but did you check your new 10 ft. section for shorts??
Tantrums just gets lots of laughs from people like me, but if it makes you feel good just do it it's free.
congrats!!! If tony doesn't want the worms i'll take them if they are night crawlers the walley love em. my XYL took hers and it was posted within 5 business days
I'm kinda curious myself, since my tennadydyne has a 24ft. boom and 38ft. ele. and as far as that vertical he would be better off with something less gimicky like a 10K or even a V58 with one of those you wouldn't need that much mast. I would, if you already have the mast, go ahead and mount...
Tony,
how high up are the ends and are you running this as a flat top or inverted "v" also how is it oriented N-S or E-W? Iv'e tried a couple of different dipole configurations 102' and 133' and a fan dipole (it actually worked good 10-20) but that was getting to big to keep up in the wind. My...
King MD,
Sorry to here that news, I wish you and your family the best. I'm sure you'll be back.
Maybe after Americans wake up, from the coming revolution the economy will get better, and you'll be back even stronger than before. It's a good thing you have family that can help. May God bless you...
