Ok, so who is gonna send me one of these for testing ?
I can test against just about most sizes, lengths and brands on the market.. All set up on a stationary vehicle with little room for error and tuned with not 1 but 2 MFJ-259's
So who do I need to send my address to ?:D
Yeah really.. This is the 2nd cb froum I read it on today.. Is it really going to change anything you do or gonna do in real life ?
I guess except for what was mentioned on the other forum about people having to get some tattoos covered up haha
Yes it will work fine.. Turn the dead key down to less than 3 watts and turn the variable wide open on the Texas Star and it will work fine..
That comes from YEARS worth of real world testing, not some BS info from an opinion..
I have a 5 speaker setup that includes a separate sub woofer enclosure and it picks up RF bad even with clamp on ferrites.. That's why this post caught my eye. I like the fact it's in a wooden enclosure and not plastic..
Now that sounds like a great pair of speakers.. I have about 8 sets of different makes and models set up..Some amplified, some not.. But the RF gets annoying..These sound just like what I've been looking for..
Is it possible for any of you that own a set try them on standard 11 meter (with...
Is that price for one or a pair ?
All amplified speakers I've purchased usually come in pairs..
Does it have a standard 3.5 mm audio plug ?
Where did you get yours ?
Ads useful ? Yeah right haha..
Those have been out for many years and I've NEVER seen anybody with one, except the one that's been sitting on my local shops display case for the last 10 years that he can't even give away.
You've been on this forum for over 4 years and are not sure how to operate a radio that only has one transistor in it ?
Run it just like you would any other radio.. The only difference is the 490 will do 3x as much do to having a 1446 in it.
I have 5 power supplys hoooked together no problems running that way for many years..
Use no less than 4 guage wire (short as possible) to make your connections.. Set voltage on all PS's to 15 volts BEFORE hooking them up and double check voltage after.
As far as wattage, claims will vary...
Step 1- Get radio tuned for max output with a 2 watt DK.
Step 2- Upgrade to Wilson 1000 or 5000 (which has better recieve) Both will be more durable and help you TX and RX better..
Step 3- Get a small 100+ watt box.
Step 4- Talk to your buddy with no problem.
I have been running power supplys hooked together for 15 years and have never had a problem.. I have 5 hooked together right now..
If you use diffrent sizes (35-50 amp) start with the smallest one 1st, then go to the biggest making sure that whatever it is you're hooking up is connected to...
When I got mine it was doing 40 on SSB and 10 on AM.. The original owner that I got it from only used SSB so he never had the AM side tuned up.. It now does 40 peak on both but the RMS on AM is about 20
Mine talks great on both since it has been alligned properly..I was actually...
There is 3 adjustment pots on the inside. 1 controls the amp meter, 1 controls the volt meter and the other one controls the crowbar adjustment.. Neither control the voltage, that is done with the knob on the front..
Those are some good boxes :thumbup1: I had the very 1st 2 outlaws that Steve built.. One was a 2x6 (mobile) with a variable and the other was an 8 pill base with a matching 200 amp power supply.. My buddy has the 2x6 now and it's still going strong..
What size is your Outlaw amp and power...
