    The MOD

I'm sure many of you remember the "MOD" where 'weakstation' came up with a control circuit using EPROMs to control the PLL and VCO. Lots of channels for different MB8719 chassis. Pretty much forgot about this till today as I was doing a search for my old Geocities page. The front page is...

My operations on two meters SSB with locals is decent and living in the Great Lakes area only seems to enhance this. Thought I would start a thread about one off or rare radios, so here is the first.... I do not know much about this base, I have a Cobra 135 GTL and looks to be the same size. Cobra must have used this on the early 2000 GTL before the chrome face came out. mechanic

    CPI info needed

Well I scored two CPIs! A CPI CP2000 base with original mike and a CPI CP400 mobile with original mic and base/power supply stand! Also all documentation! The base seems to work fine and the IC chips internally show a date code of 1982 and older. There are four added switches, two are...

    Digital modes on 11 meters

I have heard packet mode on the DX band of 11 meters above channel 40. My question is about the other modes such as JT65, FT8, Olivia or RTTY and more. Since the FCC has loosened the distance restriction stands to reason the rest of 11 meters should be less strapped. mechanic

The move of the Dayton HAMvention has many worried about the new venue.... Questions about the needed space, parking, too much grass, handicap parking, bathrooms, holding the event in an animal barn! But not too worry, here is a video of a small tour of the grounds. I think it will work fine...

    Aquario RP-90

Found this whilst doing some WEB surfing on radios.... Looking at some photos of the Maxlog M-8900 on the DD182003 Blog site, I zoomed in on one of the photos of a dozen or more of the M-8900 in a factory JPEG. I spied the ID 'RP-90' in the place of where it would say M-8900 and this led me to...

Need help with a tube amp build

A bit of nostalgia going on here! Hoping to home brew a PA amp with vacuum tubes, something like the small Wawasee Jewel Box that uses a 6BQ5 final. What I am looking for are circuit diagrams and transformer sources. Not looking for kilo-Watt power here and nothing deadly. I have built...
