Had an I-Max at 110 Feet in a fir tree for a few years. No problems at all. Just put out some nuts for the squirrels, because if you don't they will gnaw on the coax sheathing until it gets water in it.
I have two of these radios and all I have ever done is cut jumper J9 to defeat the roger beep. You can add a switch if needed to turn on and off, but I never use mine, so I just cut the jumper.
