Are you 163? I've heard 163 out there plenty of times, great sounding station. If that is a stock mic with no processing I take back what I said, but it sound like some type of signal processor is being used.

Made several contacts in my mobile to TN, GA and the Carolina's yesterday from Houston. This was the first time in over a month other than one contact last week to Puerto Rico.

I run my Dave Made M400 on SSB. I just turn it back to about 200 watts and back off the modulation, works great. I've done recordings and while you can tell I'm running an amp it doesn't sound bad at all. Not ideal, but proof that class C can work on SSB with a good amp properly ran.
