How to reduce dead key on uniden PC68XL

Right now my radio i just purchased is putting out 5 watts dead key. i'm looking to hook it up to my mobile amp so to my understanding i should be at 1 watt or around that to not harm the amp or radio? Any photos or video explaining how to do this would be great! Invisible Man
