This is Radioman 260 from 26.805FM here is an MP3 of our conversation. That harsh rumbling sound unfortunately I cannot do anything about. That is the romper room on Ch 6 AM splashing the heck out of me. If I also have paper QSL cards if you are interested.
He's a big fan of the SRA-198 and I have one. The build quality and feel of the mic are great, but they are thin flat sounding mics, just plain anemic. I get its a noise canceling mic, but just didn't suit my voice well.
Ya, I'm not sure...
on point 1. They seem to handle vibration stress much better as there sit flat on the board less torque applied into the part. Less likely a solder joint will fail.
point 2. Some of the latest offerings such as anytone, president, and stryker are offering things like PL...
Nicky,
By turning off everything did you actually flip off your main breaker? Also power line noise is pretty easy to diagnose. If you have an AM radio with a little ferrite bar antenna even better.
I'd say your still at square one. Can you confirm that you actually cut your breaker off?

That's me!
That was a fun morning, I announced on 38 I was heading to 37, one guy followed me, and then I had about an hour and half of fun. I was announcing on air I was live streaming, and it seemed like everyone enjoyed the stream. I will do more live streams and videos, trying to build my...
I work in the contract PCBA manufacturing industry. There is a possibility that President had the components in the warehouse ready to go. I see this on a daily basis some companies plan for rainy days, while others do not.
There is a possibility that Cobra, did indeed push for FM, but maybe they are being impeded by all of the shortages of components in the electronics market.
I know your dead opposed to it, but I've drilled many holes in a new roof. Even traded those cars in. They make a rubber hole plug, that is practically flush to the roof. I've never had a dealer look at the roof once. I suppose if its a lease or something maybe that's a concern. If you plan on...
The banjos for me is when the band is open (to apparently Kentucky) its seems like its always there. So I'm under the impression its running 24/7. So maybe this guy fires up when the band is open? Either way if its true he's trying to plug up someone's receive that is level of unhealthy hatred...
When conditions are rocking on the 28 AM, does anyone know the story on the banjos? Such location, history, anything? Thought it might make an interesting thread.
I have one of these that seems to work fine, but it requires about 10 watts of dead key to fire(TX) anything below that it will not TX and close to 10 watts the relay will chatter on voice peaks. This seems high, but that amp functions fine and sounds fine on the air. I feel like somebody modded...
The commercial speakers recommended are great inexpensive recommendations. I've owned a few. The amplified ones are great in the mobile because they get loud. I recently was at a local hamfest, normally this ham fest doesn't have much and I've never spent a dime, but one time I saw two of the...
Do you happen to have a dummy load? If so you could connect it to the output on the 203 and see if its antenna related.
To you rule out a sticky relay your gonna have to take the cover off and either use a VOM to see what the relay is doing or listen very carefully to see if you can hear it...
Yes Greg T, I recognize the avatar and you were the thread I was reading about that had the similar issue.
Yes I agree, voltage and current not keeping up. I can't remember I am bad with remember gauges but it was pretty heavy stuff and I'm pretty confident its up to the task.
This is with the motor running, so around 14.7 volts. That's why I wonder if something in the amp is failing and the voltage isn't keeping up with modulation at higher wattages.
I have a KL-7505 that, I have some questions on.
I set this amp up with a 2950dx with a md-1. I set the radio using my scope and it sounds fine and I normally run about 200% modulation. When I paired this combo up to the 7505. I found the amp really only likes to run to about 20 watts dead key...
Prices of used equipment is out of this world. I almost don't even bother looking at Ebay anymore. People will spend as much new on a piece of used equipment and I don't get it. I've had good luck buying used equipment locally from private sellers face-face or yard sales. People are paying the...
