base transmits just fine I have been farther out on the quad and had no problems... just couldn't figure out why it did not receive in the truck used a meter to figure out the ground wasn't doing its thing, man it was hard to find some were to ground it too had to run a wire to the engine block...

Well in the mean time I have found out that it is very hard to get a match of anykind for it and have found out that it will melt with the boot on so I have given up on the jpole from the 300 ohm wire but I will make a folded dipole and see how that goes...

The problem with the diawa xover one is that the needles are crossing so low on it I really cant tell if its 1.2 or 3.0 :?: as the lines just converge so tight its just impossible to tell what the actual reading is on it...
I got one like that and hate it with a passion...but if you say its better ok I have to test out this one and see how it compares to the cross needle one...
