You mean you haven't tried a Cicada yet? Better hurry, they're almost gone. We eat 'em by the bowl here in Tucky. Taste just like Frosted Mini Wheats. Takes a while to grow a crop though.........
Just talked again to forum member Codeman 553 in his truck on 83 LSB. At that time he was in Shreveport Louisiana.

We seem to have a relatively easy time talking to each other. The dx was a little up and down but great to hear you once again!! Maybe someday I will be lucky enough to talk to you from my base. I don't have the greatest antenna at the townhouse but I do have a couple of switches to flip that should help haha.
On another note, last night I was in Lufkin, Tx just reading the news and had the radio on in the back ground, I heard Silverbullet out of San Antonio. I can't remember what numbers he goes by. He lives just a few miles from me. This is the second time I have talked to him from within Texas. Last time I was near Odessa, Tx.
I jumped up and grabbed the mic and called for he. Had about a 1 minute contact to him and then just like that he faded out.

Good QSO with him. Real friendly guy. Says SoCal is booming up there but we are having a tough time hearing them. Skip is minute to minute here. He broke through and sounded great!

I talked to a fellow in Panama on 38LSB for about 2 min the other day before he lost me.
I could still hear him for prob 10 min after the quick contact though. 24?118 was his call sign.

I’ve never heard of NVIS so I had to research it. Ya all my contacts maybe except for Oregon were about 400 miles of me. I guess I did prove them wrong!! Thanks Crawdad for letting me know about NVIS.
Every now and again I can talk to northern OH or southern MI from KY, only 200 to 300 mi. If it's not NVIS it's something damned similar to it I guess.

DX pretty good here in NC this morning.
Had another nice lengthy QSO with forum member “Farmer Brown” in Texarkana Arkansas. A few of his radio friends joined in. Everyone was talking on Anytone AT-6666 radios.
Also had QSO’s in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, New Hampshire.
