Looking forward to Mr Sun getting it's act together and fire up some more so we can have some decent Skip conditions for 11 meter,not used to this quiet on 38 LSB, however I was able to make a contact in Chicago, 1 is better than none these days!!
yesterday i yanked the pos A 99 down.mounted it on a steel fence post n decided it gonna work or die. put a short stainless steel quarter wave mobile antenna on top n tossed the 6 ft stinger. 3 tries n got nice l o w swr across 11 meters n 1:5 to 1 on 10 meters. buried coax n left it on that steel post. i talked to a friend i havnt talked to in 4 years on 38 lsb . paul lives 75 miles from me. i had ol 99v on mid power via knob. i think im ready for sunspots again as i had hard time with the new a 99.old 1 was great out of the box.

Got conditions this morning out of Texas Louisiana and Mississippi here in Ky down on the bowl. Not the best but at least got my name called a time or 2 lol
I just had a revelation about their "testing methods" ...

You were booming into San Antonio for a couple of minutes at least i had a quick contact with you, then the conditions fell out.
I also made it to 306 in Virginia.
You were strong here as well but then conditions fell out. I could hear 306 as well. Made some groundwave contacts with a couple stations 100 or so miles west of me so been a good morning so far.
South America rolling in on the upper frequencies pipeline to Brazil right now
Sometimes around 9-10. The skip was in and out pretty quick.
Had Brazil coming in here too. Skip was fading in and out though. I gave a shout and got a brief reply. Accent was so thick that by the time I figured out what he was saying the skip had moved on. Still pretty cool having someone in Brazil calling out to me.
It was in for a couple hours from there made about 20 contacts with couple of the stations 10 to 20 over coming in.
