Yup! AZ....USA. Only ones out there, have the band all by themselves. 066 let me know I made the trip. Their audio is clear and clean.
So far we've had political jokes, fishing reports, and now now tech advice on an amp.
It's so quiet here I can hear Recon's dog snoring. ha ha
I think that is what we were hearing on LSB 37, but it wasn't hitting as hard here in SW Razorback

Talked to a few stations in Texas this morning using a stock Galaxy DX-98VHP. It is a customers unit that was in for repair. It has rockin audio but hey, it's a typical Galaxy and needs the clarifier turned every so often to stay on frequency.
Just copy the LIGHTNING 4 element quad. Its a true full wave and beats any other quad out there. IMO I had an 8 element quad up north that part of the 42 foot long boom broke in half from a nasty ice storm. I was sent a replacement boom section and ended up making 2- 4 element quads from it. I sold one to a local here and he said it smokes his old moonraker 4 he had up. The other 4 element quad I have here that Im keeping. I have measurements if your serious about building one of these. You will need to get you 16 fiberglass spreaders and some wire and of course the boom and short pieces of aluminum tubing the spreaders fit into.It also uses a hairpin matching system

Here you go. 1 pic is of the 8 element quad on the ladders waiting for the crane to lift it up on the tower. 2nd pic is of it up on the tower. 3rd pic is after the ice storm. You can see the ice weighing down the spreaders and wires...lol
Is there anyway to block-out channel 6 on a radio so as I don't have to listen to those guys break through the squelch when I activate the scan feature?
