11 meter is very quiet?

Had a nice chat with Danielsan in Tucson yesterday. 1st time Ive ever been called a "Big Hammer" but he had a gate and played it back and I was punching through all the noise and sounding choice. Thing is though I doubt I sounded as good as he does. He told me hes running some mixer boards but man he was CLEAN. I have a little bit of station envy but that said, the new Hopper Built was working those conditions. To go from sounding great as I did, to Professional Broadcast Station fantastic like he did probably takes more than I dare invest. Wife would kill me lol.

DX was so good the last couple of weeks but this week it's been really up and down in the NW. I could hear lots of the SW last night but couldn't get anyone to come back and then out of the blue I make a contact with a guy in the Yukon and then 10 seconds later the bottom drops out. Throughout the day it's been like that.

Totally!! The PNW comes in strong then bam....gone!! Lots of times I will make a call to a station and as the station responds they disappear.

Talked to forum member “Codeman 553” again today in his truck NC to Texas.

Three times this week on 38 LSB. :)

It has been busy for sure. Maybe I can catch you again tomorrow. I am near Houston now, waiting to load, heading out to west Texas. I will listen for you. It seems like I get your area in the morning better then later in the day.

I have heard a lot of stations using frequcies from 36LSB on up above 40LSB. It has been neat listening in on guys talking locally. Glad to see people getting away from 38.
Lots of good sounding stations out and a just a few sounding rough.

I listened to a guy named John,I believe, from Winston Salem, NC. Who was talking to someone I could not hear. Anyway he was talking about cb days from the 60's. I think he said he was 88 years old.
He was talking on a Kenwood of some sort, sounding real nice.
