11 meter is very quiet?

You guys are killing me! Stuck home with my busted neck and conditions are rolling! I gots to get an antenna up in the air at the house somehow!
Maybe I'll annoy myself trying to hang that Radiowavz double bazooka up? Or maybe try a Sirio Boomerang?
Until then I'll just have to listen to SDR online..............

Oh the humanity........

My sirio boomerang does pretty well for what it is. Mounted on a painter's pole, I can raise it up to about 12 feet to the feedpoint. I have made contacts all over the U.S. and beyond. Of course some heat in the wire helps. I even had my numbers called on the superbowl a couple of times. It does good for me on sideband. On the busy AM frequencies it can be difficult at times to get any response. I can't compete with the beam antennas and thousands of watts.
When the dx is busy I try to find quieter channels to talk AM on and it works ok(for what it is).

If nothing else JD, get two pieces of wire in the air, easier on the neck and beats a poke in the eye.

Hope you're doing well,

“Im’a gettin’ closer to a one piece coax harness!” (co-phase) versus the six-piece that’s factory-standard in the t680 KW.

All this Skip and you guys catching your daily limit in an hour or so HAS LIT THE FIRE!

Just got the Clay Thompson-tweaked GALAXY 979 out of the local shop after protection diode blew and jack melted a few years back. DK set to 2W, swings 9W

Is there an RM ITALY KL-203 fresh from the box, waiting?

Just need to pick up a BUSSMANN Add-A-Circuit Fuse Tap to run the amp on its own wiring. Found some 10-AWG zip cord when home. Leave the KW supplied power to run 979 + DSP Speaker.

I’m encouraged by “the quiet” wrapping the power cord in a big ferrite produced. So, instead of going to BATT, will try this first.

ALSO means the coax install will be easier.

Figure I ought to be more easily heard once these jobs done. I’ve been able to hear, but am not heard on SSB with any consistency.

Hey Leo,
You need to put some headphones on at bedtime and listen to recordings of The Andy Griffith Show while you sleep. After a week or so you'll wake up sounding like you're from Nawth Carolina. :D

Seriously tho that's great stuff that you two have become such good friends after meeting here. Even better that you get to talk over the airwaves so often.
