Short dx was pretty good last night around 11 pm CST. Made it to Galveston, Corpus Christi, and New Orleans.
I'm hearing the band fade in and out 8am Mountain time here on Saturday in the desert southwest. Louisiana, southern Wisconsin, and St. Louis MO peaking at S3, Chicago, Alabama, and Biloxi Mississippi at S5. The barefoot Uniden 980SSB not making it the other direction, though.
We're starting to get snow and so I was on 19 AM most of the week for the mountain pass road conditions and missed the big band opening earlier in the week. Low temp was 9 deg. F this morning at 7,000 ft elevation.

That would be a fun toy to have but I could never afford it and the learning curve with no help would be too much for me. But in the wrong hands there would be a lot of Antenna damage I'm sure. I'm getting too old for those thoughts. LOL

Todays conditions were ok. Would be strong and fade out then come back. Still fun nonetheless! Some contacts on LSB with Canada, Illinois, Wisconsin…even went to AM 11 and talked to a fellow in Louisiana!
Conditions were pretty good to Europe this morning. They have been pretty good every morning here lately. Lots of fun lol.
Conditions this evening weren't great but I would say decent enough. I made a handful of contacts (LSB) before they faded out around sunset. Then around 7 pm conditions came back fairly well. Had a good 15 minute qso with 802 SE Arkansas. Haven't talked to him in several months. Almost 8 pm now and I'm hearing 79 mobile out of Hawaii and Australia is starting to come in.

I just talked to 420 in central Florida. I was sitting in the Walmart parking lot. Sounded awesome. 7x9 signal. Said I sounded good. Hope for more conditions as the day progresses.
Only one contact with a fellow in West Virginia this morning. Conditions hadn’t really popped off yet.
