11 meter is very quiet?

About 1 AM I was snapped awake by a loud crashing noise. Got up and checked outside. It was raining HARD with much lightning, thunder, and very high wind. The crashing noise was our granddaughter's play house being blown away. Got up this morning and found this.

The wind also took most of the roof off of my shack/shop. Everything in the shop was totally drenched. Fortunately I built a shelf on my desk, so my rig was covered and didn't take on too much water. My test equipment - scope, spec analyzer, etc were full of water. Spent the day drying everything out. No Dxing for me for a while. Took the cases off of everything. I want to let everything sit with fans on until every drop of water is gone. Several days, I guess. It gets hot in the shack during the day, so that will help the drying process. Hopefully everything will work when I power them up.

Oh well - - S**T Happens.

Glad you weren't out there when that hit.

Oh no! I sure hate to see this. It's an awful thing to wake up to!
Hopefully it dries out well enough that you don't have much, or any work to get everything up and running.

I'm glad everyone is ok!

The Northeast (US and Canada) is currently booming into west Texas. Been making several quality qsos. I'm hearing Hawaii in there now.

Edit: @Shadetree Mechanic , it was great hearing from you, my friend! Conditions seem to be pretty decent this evening and you were sounding top shelf as always.

I heard your qso with @Dr_DX

Great talking to you, it's been a while. You are sounding great as always. I have been as busy as ever and am trying to get all my outside work finished up before the weather turns cold. I anticipate the conditions will continue to improve this fall. I heard you calling a Hawaiian station but didn't hear if you made the contact. I will try to connect with you again as the weekend progresses.

Ditto - Good to talk to Shadetree Mechanic on 375 I heard him talking to 226 and mention that he hadn't talked to any other forum members. So I figured I would give him a shot to see if he could hear me and he did. Nice sounding 2547 in the garage.
Great talking to you, it's always good talking to our fellow forum members. You and 226 were the only ones that I could hear when the conditions would fade. You guys had a direct line to Delaware at the time. I will be listening for you, I usually monitor 37 when I am not actively talking, I hope to talk to you again soon.

Had to laugh reading you guys post because I had to run to the big city today for a doctors appointment and gather supplies I needed from the city area while I was there. The mobile wasn't for crap today when I tried it so it was taking care of business as usual. Well when I got home I took my kitchen range apart to adapt a new burner to it I bought today and had to run to a little town for some oven cleaner so turned on the mobile and heard what you guys are talking about. It was coming in beautiful. Wouldn't you know it the weekend is upon us and my neighbor will be Home ALL weekend and DX will probably be at a peak. Guess I'll have to make some time to hide the little KLs back in the mobiles. And by the way I think those Little President BT- Mikes are more Junk but at least they weren't a fortune like their radios ! Enjoy Enjoy the DX.
