14.313 tonight at 9:30 PM CST

I guess CB must have moved into ham radio?

So I was spinning the dial tonight thru the 20 meter band, bird dogging any QSO's. Got to 14.313 and heard what sounded like one of those funny country songs about womens butts that someone was playing over the air. Then it turned into "The Boys Are Back In Town" by Thin Lizzy. That played for a few minutes, then someone was cussing over the airwaves, and kept saying "that racist son of a bitch". After this clown kept rambling on for the next 5 minutes about "he kept calling us damn idiots that racist son of a bitch", then it went to the sound of a military bugle doing a call to arms...

For a minute there I thought I was on the CB again....anyone else hear this crap?

It seems there are a few idiot frequencies on 20 meters and 313 is one of them....and I think 275 is another....they tend to ramble about anything they feel like ...and the sad part is they have a pretty big fan base....I just spin past them,not worth the time unless you are looking at them for the entertainment value...and that is not much

Yes 14.313 is the 27.185 of 20 meter... Welcome to HF

Also now we have IDIOTS that are whistling on freq and others that will tune up on some ones QSO, If your going to tune up with out a dummy load do it on a quiet freq NOT on some ones QSO ( or 14.313 if doing 20 meter)

You are about 25 years too late for this to be news. I remember hearing that crap on 14.313 as well as a few other well know crap disturbers on a few other frequencies waaaaay back in the day. Same crap, same frequency, mostly the same idiots, different decade. That is why I like VFO's. A slight twist of the dial makes it all go away.

You are right about not being any better. BUT there are alot of hams on here that are still playing CB radio also and they are not like that.

I run both,i started on 11 mtrs back in 1967,and still run on 22am and 38lsb.Dont run a amp,and will talk to dx on ssb...have a nice 148 for 11 mtrs and use my ft450d on other bands...i dont run 20 or 40 mtrs,i run 10/12/17/75mtrs and also of 6mtrs...theres lids on every band,like anywhere you go...thats why we have laws to keep this from happening,but it just happen like we like,73 de n0zna/John

Funny thing is everything I ever heard about amateur radio was how civil it is/was and how it is/was self policed. Then I heard on 80 M sometimes you will hear some really foul mouthed people. Never heard anything about 20 M having idiots on it, though I guess that's really nothing anymore since anyone can buy an amateur radio, and Uncle Charlie doesn't come knocking unless there is a complaint.

Next people will probably have echo boxes on amateur radio and not use their call signs....or maybe they already do...:headbang

I was wondering how long it would take to degenerate into yet another CB versus ham thread. We have a policy here of closing these out right away before they turn out the same way all the other's do........a shit fest.
