A biased 4x1446 amp would be a nice rig. I love those transistors (from experience abusing them years ago). A little over 100watts per 1446, no problem.

No, just saying how I would prefer to run them at a level of 100 or so watts output each. I’m certain they can do more than that. How much more, I don’t know.
I tend the think the 4x1446s would be a better bet if that’s an option for you.
I have a Palomar 400 with 4X1446s and a DX500v with 4 DEI 2879s......in the same truck with the same setup, I get about 65 more watts with the Texas Star than with the palomar... 415 with the TS and 350 with the Palomar. Audio is said to be equal-ish. As said before, if you have an option, 4X1446 is a far better choice IMHO. I have no complaints with the DEIs I'm running, but I'm just talking, not beating the @#%$ out of them, in which case they'd explode into a cloud of magic smoke. HGs are good but there is not a pill made today that will take the abuse the Toshibas did/will.
As long as you don't plan to volt them, or beat them to death (key downs and such) they do fine. If you try to hit them with 18+ VDC, you'll be smelling that gut wrenching oder in no time.... So I,ve been told by a few folks getting their boxes rebuilt.
Pretty sure I'll blow the TS up in a month or so for 3 reasons. 1: to see how much abuse they'll take. 2: I want to have it upgraded and HGs put in it. 3: because the TS has caused me headaches and I want revenge.
