Ten + years later, but......

Gonna disagree with that opinion.
I have made contacts out to 60 miles plus on two meter SSB using a diamond vertical in the past, even with the loss incurred with cross polarization.
I am aware of another ham making 2 meter SSB contacts using a mobile antenna @ 10 watts in excess of 150 miles so yes it can be done.
Did it work as well as my stacked yagis?
No.
But to flatly say it can't be done is not correct.
