2 Meter Wide Area Repeaters-CA Coastline?

Gonna be driving from LA to SF next week (vacation for wife, otherwise I don't go to Kalif.)

Anyone have tips on what repeaters I should set in my Yaesu FT11R, in case of emergency and if the cell phone craps out? Thanks.

Lotsa repeaters in the Bay area; tons of them.
Cannot say how many between AZ and the CA Bay Area - though . . .

Thanks. Not enough time to get the book. Found a repeater on Santa Rita Peak near Coalinga that covers a very wide area. 147.33+.

When you're in LA, jump on the Scrap Radio Repeater and say hi... 449.500 (444.500tx PL 100)

Check the WIN System's page for frequencies (WIN System repeater list). This is a linked system that will have coverage for a good amount of your trip.

If you have an Android or iPhone there are apps that will find repeaters close by your current location.

Can hit it from just outside Tucson thru Phx to Yuma

But most likely you will going across I-40 Cant help you on that route

Not I-40. Will take I-10 to CA57 up to I210, then up I-5. I already have most of the Arizona repeaters in memory.

No EchoLink... We've got a couple of users that have tried it through their remotes and have had a tough time because the machine is so busy. It can be 20-30 minutes before it "drops" for them to get in.
