I took a little time to build the antenna mount for my new radio today, Bolts on thru the existing box bolts directly to the frame "Less bonding straps I hope" Now to pull it back off for powder coating. I think it should be a bit more effective than a flimsy boxside mount.

Still getting a fair amount of noise, Could it be that darn coil not being above the roof? I just may try Bulldogs Predator Freedom 1-K Antenna and get away from the coil type.

As it was I could only achieve 1.9-2.3, I have since added 1' to the mount to raise the coil 6" above the cab, I now have a 1.3-1.3 on 1 and 40. I have ordered the 27" 10K so hopefully they will soon be a bit better. It's hard to see in the pics but, The mount is actually sitting 18" behind the cab. Would I be better off moving it forward nearer the cab?

You will see much better results.
