2030+ mosfet

that's what the rt1 is and they pop like fireworks
Not for me, Probably the best mosfet in my opinion and I have quite a few of them running around in trucks. If a poor tech or Vietnamese ranger employee sets the bias wrong any mosfet will pop.
What is the big deal about the 2030+ other than that pork chop says they are superior?

I know little about the 2030+ other than reports from those who had used them. Matter of fact I couldn't get them to perform like I was told they would.
As to @TheRealPorkchop , I just know years back he had played with them and they worked well for him according to his reports here on wwdx.

As to the rt1's, at their introduction they weren't doing so well and that was probably because of how they were biased but just my speculation. I have a 2950dx6 with them and haven't had a problem.

I still have some 2030+ somewhere but I never thought they were a big deal.

Many years ago when RF Limited was still making the Magnum S3, S6,and S9 radio’s I think they were the first to use the 2030 mosfet. That is what they went to when the 2sc1969 and 2312 were dropped. I’m sure Sam had someone make them several thousand at a time for him. Not sure at this point what part was used but when you buy that many they will stamp what you want on them. As I remember they were a small step better the the irf520.
